OPEN CALL FOR POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITIONS

Eligibility
We seek candidates with a PhD in
Physics, Astronomy, Space Sciences, Computer Sciences, or an allied area of
Engineering with at least 55% aggregate marks in their BSc, MSc and equivalent
degree examinations, and whose PhD research has a strong link to the research
interests of faculty at CESSI. Preference will be given to candidates with
demonstrated ability in computational space sciences or satellite data analysis
in the context of Solar Physics, or Space Weather or Climate Physics (in
particular, solar forcing of climate).
We may relax some of the eligibility
criterion regarding percentage marks in BSc and MSc exams if the candidates PhD
performance and experience are particularly suitable for research at CESSI.
Selection Procedure
Candidates will be short-listed
based on their applications by a selection committee or the individual
investigator under whom the project is available. Shortlisted candidates will
be informed and will be contacted via email for an interview. The interview
dates may be flexible, and in case the candidate is unable to make it
physically to IISER Kolkata, an interview may be conducted through
video-conferencing. Positions will be filled only if suitable, high quality
candidates are found.
Emoluments
Fellowship amount will be as per
CESSI norms or as sanctioned by the funding agency in case of an individual
project grant from an external agency. A modest contingency allowance may be
available from CESSI for conference travel and other academic expenses.

statement of research interests and future plans, 8) list of professional
referees and their complete contact details including official email, 9) list
of technical or professional skills, 10) any other items that you may like us
to know about you. You must send in a complete application as a single file.
