 Managerial Secretary

The Center of Excellence in Space Sciences India (CESSI) is a multi-institutional Center of Excellence funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. CESSI is located at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata and involves collaborating faculty from IISER Kolkata, IISER Pune, Indian Space Research Organization, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Udaipur Solar Observatory (Physical Research Laboratory) and Inter-University Center of Astronomy and Astrophysics. CESSI is an academic research and training organization focussing on the space and astrophysical sciences. For more information see: www.cessi.in.

CESSI is seeking a Managerial Secretary who will play an integral role in managing day to day activities and help liaison between faculty and students at CESSI, and other CESSI affiliated academic institutions. Job duties will include but not be limited to assistance in the organization of seminars, conferences, travel, financial and human resource book-keeping and management.

Eligibility

A Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks is mandatory. Candidates with a combination of the following skills will be preferred: Excellent spoken and written English skills, Proficiency in computer applications such as email, MS Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), MBA or Company Secretary degree or certification.

Emoluments and Tenure 

The position is contractual with a minimum consolidated pay package of INR 20,000 to INR 35,000 based on prior experience and demonstrated skills. Probationary period is 6 months, following which the appointment is extendable by periods of one-year based on suitable performance and availability of funding.

Selection Procedure

CESSI will short-list the candidates based on their applications. Short-listed candidates may be asked to furnish additional information and/or reference letters. Based on their application and any additional information submitted, some short-listed candidates will be called for interview to CESSI at a pre-determined date. All communications will be over email and candidates will be informed of the interview date and time over email. Note that meeting the basic requirement is not a guarantee for short-listing and CESSI reserves the right of not filling up the position if suitable candidates are not found.
